At STEMM Global, we are really aware of how important funding to attend conferences is to the dissemination of science. To help reduce barriers to the sharing and advancement of research knowledge, we are offering competitive supplemental travel grants to allow scientists and researchers at any stage of their career to present a talk at a recognised conference in any STEMM discipline. All we ask in exchange is that you acknowledge STEMM Global's support in your presentation at the conference as well as in a social media post about your conference experience!

– We will usually cover only part of the expense of attending a conference;
– This funding is intended to supplement funding from other sources.

It is strongly recommended to carefully review cancellation policies before booking your travel and accommodation. STEMM Global will only reimburse for travel and/or accommodation if the recipient is able to attend the conference.

How to apply

  • Complete the Application Form in the STEMM Global Member Area prior to a minimum of 1 month to the conference

  • Decision on application is made within 5 weeks from submission day

Your application must be submitted online before the conference you plan to attend takes place. Applications are considered by the STEMM Global Funding Committee on a monthly basis, so please allow up to 5 weeks to receive a decision on your application. For example, for an event taking place on the 1st of July, your application should reach us by 1st June at the latest. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Eligibility

  • You must be a current STEMM Global Scientific Society Member;
  • The conference you wish to attend must be a recognized international conference in a STEMM field;
  • Your talk should be accepted for presentation by the conference programme committee at the stage of application;
  • You must attend a conference and present a talk in offline mode (in person, not online);
  • You must acknowledge the support from STEMM Global Scientific Society by including the logo and an advertisement slide about STEMM Global in your presentation, as well as by posting on social media.

How to receive funding

  • If awarded, travel funding will be reimbursed after the conference via bank transfer.
  • We ask you to acknowledge STEMM Global’s support in your presentation, conference proceeding (if any), and social media (at least one), as well as to send us a simple report after the event. Grants are only made when the report (with accompanying documents) has been received.
  • To receive reimbursement you need to submit:
    – The reimbursement form together with scans of the original receipts for travel, accommodation, and/or conference fees;
    – The Conference Report Form, including the following attachments:
    – Your onsite Photo(s) with the conference stand;
    – Your presentation slide/ poster with acknowledgement of STEMM Global’s support;
    – The reference of your Conference Proceeding (if any);
    – Your Conference Attendance Certificate.
